About Andy Graham

Andy Graham has been a performing pianist/keyboard-player and music tutor for nearly 30 years, specialising in jazz and blues.

He is also a versatile general pianist, having played many different styles of music at many different types of venues and functions over the years.

At various times, he has also been featured on guitar or bass guitar with some acts, and he is also an accomplished vocalist.

As well as being a solo artist, Andy has performed in many bands and groups over the years, including Amethyst, the Crystal Moon Jazz Quartet, Alta Strata and Foundation.

He has often been in support acts for very well-known artists, including Ronnie Scott, John Miller and Courtney Pine, as well as many others. He also features on many backing tracks where he has undertaken studio session work.

Andy is listed on many music-related websites and on-line directories, and is also a member of the Musicians’ Union, UK Piano Register (‘UK Piano Page’), RGT, and London Borough of Bromley Register of Teachers. He has an MA from the University of Keele, and was President of the Keele University Jazz Society, which is where his musical interests and involvement with the music industry really took off in a new way.

Over the years, Andy has studied many styles of jazz, and has read about the lives and influences of the giants, such as (no fixed order) Fats Waller, Count Basie, Ray Charles, Dave Brubeck, Dr John and Herbie Hancock. Andy tries to combine these various different styles of jazz with his own unique, but flexible, approach.
